This is Narativ's first original-artwork collaboration — a July 4 commission by Substack artist Cris Palomino, the Los Angeles-born illustrator who spent years drawing for Disney Consumer Products and now delights readers with her funny little animal cartoons and incredible graphic art. This is her first commissioned piece for Narativ, and she delivered: Liberty peering over her shades against a hand-brushed flag, printed on both sides.
The piece began with a tagline — "Throwing shade, not the rule of law." We cut the words. The art says it all.
